Who is Danielle Eleni Nido, Wife of Tomas Nido? His Parents, Family, Net Worth, Salary and Jersey

Tomas Nido is a professional baseball catcher from Puerto Rico who plays for the MLB’s New York Mets. He debuted in the MLB in 2017. Nido was born into two sporting families that have traveled abroad to represent Puerto Rico. Nido went to Maitland, Florida’s Orangewood Christian School. He decided to enroll at Florida State University and play baseball for the Seminoles there. The New York Mets chose him in the eighth round of the 2012 MLB Draft.

Nido decided to contract with the Mets and receive a $250,000 signing fee rather than enroll at Florida State. After the 2016 season, the Mets signed him to their 40-man squad. Nido was selected as one of the three candidates for the National League Gold Glove Award for catchers on October 20, 2022.

MLB.com ranked Tomás as the eleventh-best talent for New York going into the 2018 campaign. He played for the Binghamton Devils to begin the 2018 campaign.

Tomas Nido parents and family

His father, Tomás Nido Sr., earned a medal in tennis at the 1982 Central American and Caribbean Games and played tennis at Louisiana State University. His mother, Liana Vicens, is a multi-sport athlete who participated in the 1968 Summer Olympics as a swimmer at the age of 11.

Tomas is also the great-grandson of Enrique Vicéns, a famous basketball player for Puerto Rico. Juan “Pachn” Vicéns, the “Best Player in the World” of the 1959 FIBA World Championship, is his great-uncle. Both of his brothers played professionally in basketball and tennis, Michael Vicens and Miguel Nido. At Indiana University, Carlos Nido participated in college tennis.
